Similarly, the Massachusetts Department of Correction provides options for obtaining information on inmates held in state facilities. Residents can either call or search online using VINElink. Using either option will require the inmate's name as well as the inmate's commitment number.

To find Worcester County inmates held in federal facilities, inquirers can conduct searches using the Bureau of Prisons inmate-lookup tool. It provides records of federal inmates incarcerated since 1982. Searches can be conducted using either a known name or a BOP registration number. Inquirers can also filter results using the inmate's sex, age, or race.

Third-party inmate locators provide yet another option. These non-governmental platforms provide access to databases that contain records compiled from multiple jurisdictions, including Worcester County. Members of the general public can conduct searches using a known name, case number, or any other identifying detail. However, access to some records may require paying a fee.

How to Send Money to a Worcester County Inmate

Inmates at Worcester County have multiple ways of receiving funds for purchasing canteen items. Visitors at the facility can deposit funds to an inmate's account in person using the kiosk located in the Modular complex lobby. The kiosk opens daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and accepts cash or credit cards. Alternatively, friends and family can make online deposits with a credit card or debit card using the AccessCorrections service.

Funds can also be sent over the phone by calling (866) 345-1884. Deposits made using this method will require a debit or credit card. Finally, inmates can receive funds via US postal service money orders (not cash). Money orders must be made payable to the inmate and sent directly to the facility.

How to Visit a Worcester County Inmate

Almost anyone may visit an inmate in Worcester County-with the exception of former inmates, parolees, codefendants, or persons on probation or under indictment. However, visitors must also be on the inmate's approved list. Visitors who have not been added to an inmate's approved list must write a letter requesting that the inmate update the list.

Inmates are allowed up to three visits each week. Inmates may only list up to 7 individuals. Visitations must also be scheduled in advance. The county jail operates with a timetable that schedules visits for different days, depending on the inmate cell block.

While at the facility, visitors will be required to provide a "request to visit inmate form" and a valid government-issued ID. Accepted options include a driver's license, US passport, or military ID. Visitors must also follow the facility's dress code, which prohibits tank tops, mini skirts, short dresses, sheer clothing, army fatigues, and baggy pants, among others.

How to Send Jail Mail in Worcester County

Residents who wish to send mail to inmates must ensure that the correspondence is properly addressed with the inmate's name and MSA number. The county sheriff advises that any incoming jail mail be sent with the following address format:

All incoming mail must be written on white lined paper and with black or blue pink. Envelopes must be white with the address or return address, typed or written.
