Massachusetts has a statewide system for providing criminal record checks. Members of the public can either request a name-based record check or a fingerprint-based record check. The name-based check is provided by the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services via its iCORI platform. Requesters have to register and then log in to use this service. The fingerprint-based system allows the public to access the Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification Services results (SAFIS-R). It also requires user registration.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office does not provide incident and traffic accident reports. These reports are available from the various police departments in the cities, towns, and other municipalities of the county. For example, the Plymouth Police Department provides these records for the Town of Plymouth. Submit a request via the Public Request Form. Electronic copies of police records are free. Contact the Records Division of the Plymouth Police Department for questions and information about fees by calling the Division at (508) 830-4218 ext. 253.
